MrCUTE Jr. Shared URL/File Repository Plugin

This Moodle resource-type plugin enables sharing of URL and File resources in any course on a Moodle site. Here are some of the things this moodle plugin can do:

• Teachers/course editors can search for a previously created shared resource by keyword.
• A shared resource URL or File can be updated in one location, (in the “repository”); the updated URL/File will instantly be available throughout your courses. For example, let’s say you have URL that you commonly refer to in several of your course, then one day the URL breaks (site get’s update, etc); without this plugin you need to search through all your courses for the resource that points to this URL & update each one, however, with the “mrcutejr” plugin you can simply search for the item in the repository, change the URL to the new one and you’re done (same thing goes for replacing an existing file resource with an updated one).
• Shared URL/File resources are stored outside of site-files and can only be accessed by a student from a link inside of a course that the students are enrolled in; further, the links are user & course specific and will not work for another user.
• In Moodle, URL icons are not always correctly defined; this is not really a flaw in Moodle so much as a technical limitation, for example “http://example.com/?resource=xyz” could return anything (a web page, or an image, or a flash .swf file, a pdf, etc), there’s really no way to know for certain. In mrcutejr we’ve made it possible for the Teacher/course editor to select the appropriate icon for a URL resource.
